Rose Bud aka Bella, came to GRRR as a stray from a shelter. She has adjusted well in her foster home. Bella is a golden mix and is very little, 30lbs. She is about 2-3 years of age. Bella likes to be Queen of the home. She can be timid and shy at first with strangers, but once she adjusts she is very sweet. She loves to cuddle and to be played with. When she does not feel she has your attention you will get a paw from her saying, "hello, I am here."

Scout - He is a very handsome boy with a goofy smiley. He has a fixation with food, will try to counter surf and get into food or trash if it is left unattended. He has a great personality and can be quite calm and also likes to play. He is definitely a lover boy, likes to be cuddled and petted. His favorite toy so far is a stuffed animal. He appears to be housebroken so far. No accidents except for possibly trying to mark territory. I put him in a crate when I left the house for 8 hours, but left him out with my two other dogs and a few rooms closed off for 4 hours. He gets along great with my other two dogs a female rott mix and a male husky mix. Appears to have some leash training although he tugs a bit. Also knows sit and we're working on down and stay. Having been in boarding for 21 days before I got him, he is doing wonderfully and will make a great pet for almost anyone.

Update from Scout's Foster Family:

Scout has settled into his foster home nicely. He has a GREAT personality and is mellow most of the time. He is content to be right where I am. Loves to be petted and loved.  I can touch him all over, look at his mouth, paws etc. and isn't bothered by it. He also loves to be brushed. His favorite toy is a stuffed rabbit that he loves to toss in the air and play tug with. He is improving on a leash and knows sit, down, stay, and shake. He still loves food and I keep my counters clear to be safe. He has learned to wait for his own food before receiving it by telling him sit & stay. Since being here he has had a few accidents on the floor, but has been doing great lately. He can hold it for at least 8 hours safely. Beyond that time alone someone may want to crate him although we haven't. He is living in a house with 2 adults and 2 dogs. He is fantastic with all of us. The only problem I've encountered is that his is unsure of strangers in our home and acts defensive. He has been improving, but we don't have visitors often. We watch him and keep hold of him or crate him during their visit. Since we are unsure of his past, we do not know what he's been through. I heard he looked like a mess when he first came in. A new home where people are patient and are willing to work with him would be great. He has been to 2 adoption events so far. He is great with all people, including kids. He has been temperamental with the other dogs, but is great with our 2 at home. He is an absolute joy to have around!

If you are interested in Scout, please call Sandy at 419-266-6031.

Shena - This young golden mix is both beautiful and smart!.  She came to us a couple of months ago and promptly had a litter of 8 puppies.  The puppies are weaned and Shena is ready for a new home.  She needs an experienced family and a 6 ft fence.  Shena would make a great agility dog as she learned the dog walk and the teeter in no time at all.  She does show some separation anxiety so a family where someone is home a lot would also be great.  Sweet and affectionate - she is good with kids and other dogs.
Jackson is a small dog. Loves a tummy rub. Very calm and quiet. a real gentleman.

Hi. I'm Buster. I'm a Golden mix, around 1 year old. I'm a real sweetheart from what my foster mom says. I don't get along real well with other dogs though and I'd probably be better off without any cats. I know a few commands, like Sit, Down, Come, Back and Wait. I live with 5 kids (age 6 - 15). I just love the kids. Actually, I love everybody. I'm very submissive to people and only want to please you. I love to cuddle, go for walks and play ball. I really love belly rubs! Despite my long fur I really don't shed a whole lot and I don't get matted very easily. I really want a family to call my own who want me to be their only special boy. I will try to please you and give lots of love. If you're the family that I've been desperately  wanting and waiting so long for please call my foster mom, Cori, at 419-264-0778. I would really love to meet you and to have a long happy life with you. Please give me a forever home.

Buddy - his original family didn't have time for this little charmer and didn't know he needed thyroid medicine.  He has way too many pounds on him, and he is already responding to meds and will be a happier boy in a family that will take care and love him  He has kennel cough now so can't come to the adoptathons for awhile.
Laddie is an over 5 red dog with a big heart and a lot of energy. He loves to ride in the car and walk in the park. He is a sweet boy who needs a loving home and he will give you a lot of love in return. He is looking for someone who wants a mature pet that doesn't have all the demands of a younger, more active dog. Don't be put off by Old Gold - it has a shine and luster all its own!
Hannah is a very young golden who was rescued from a kill sheler. She is
beautiful. The picture doesn't show her high quality look. Hannah is very sweet, but since she is so young, she needs some puppy training. Hannah needs love and attention as do all dogs.
Reagan - He is a great looking dog and seems to like the attention of my husband more than me.  He is dominated by our oldest dog and deserves to be in a home where he can be the star.  He was with kids at one time, but hasn't been around them for awhile, so would suggest older children now. He would like to relax and be the love of your family.
Fargo -Young, sweet, still acts like a puppy and needs some training when you adopt him.  Would recommend only older children, or no children because he can get too playful.  He is a lover boy and will jump right into my lap.  Do you want his unconditional love, companionship, and great personality in your life.  I think he's a "10"as far as I see it.
Sage - this mixed breed puppy came in with 3 of his litter mates - they've all found a home but he's still looking for his.  He's about 7 months old - can he come to your house?
Katrina - My Mom and Dad surrendered me because I was too much to handle-I am a big girl, young in age and I am very headstrong.  My new Mom and Dad really need to understand me and give me good, firm direction.  If you think you can help me with learning about life and love me at the same time,  please fill out an application and take me home!
Sky - Look at this beautiful Sky! She is an over-5 spayed female ready to bring lots of love to your home. Sky appears to have had some professional training, as she recognizes several commands. While Sky gets along well around kids, she prefers a home where there are no other dogs. Sky would make a very mellow companion. Please call to find out more about fostering or adopting Sky.
Hi! I'm Maggie. I'm an over 5 female. I'm spayed, housebroken and fully obedience trained. I'm also fully leash trained. Aren't I beautiful! I'm a very sweet girl and love to be petted and loved on. I'm a very laid back girl so I don't get along very well with those hyper youngsters or those over dominant types. I get a little too excited over cats. I would make the perfect companion for another calm and submissive dog. I love people, especially those shorter versions called kids. I do have some skin allergies, but they are clearing up really well without meds. I'm waiting for that perfect family to love me and give me a home that I can call my own. If you would like to hear more about me please call my foster mom, Cori, at 419-608-5004 or put in an application on our website. I probably won't be up for adoption long so if you're interested please hurry.
Lucas - this handsome guy just came in - we'll have more info for you soon.

MARTY

Marty is a big happy, goofy, playful, lovable, high energy, golden retriever.

He is very handsome, with a black nose, dark eyes, honey colored coat.

Marty likes to chew on bones, if chew toys are not available he will search out shoes, socks, etc…you get the idea, and eat them in minutes. Chew toys need to be every where in the house.

If he take a valuable personal item, and a human or dog chase him, he has won. He wants to be chased. Marty seeks out thing that will cause human to chase him. No chase and the item is dropped.

Marty has not met another dog that wasn’t his best friend. He loves every dog has ever met. He likes to play.

Marty has a deep, strong, serious bark that he uses any time someone comes near his house. This is good protection.

Marty is very concerned about new people, they scare him, he meets and greets strangers with fear and barks, this is his attempt to scare those new people away. But, once Marty gets to know a person he is their best buddy.

Marty is a fun dog. He likes to chase throw toys, go for walk, get groomed, and receive any kind of attention.

He needs to have a home that will take him on daily walks, play with him, hug him, pet him, talk to him, and train him. Marty wants to learn, and he wants people to invest the time in him.

In a matter of days Marty learned to sit, down and respond to his new name, Marty. He wants to learn, but that means a human has to invest the time to do such training.

Marty has no idea how big and strong he is. He acts like a small dog. Placing him with small children is not a good decision. He might hurt the small child due to his size, strength, and enthusiasm, while lacking awareness of his size and power.

He will not tolerate teasing. It is best for him to go to a home that respects him and is consistent with behavior towards him.

Once Marty has accepted a human he wants to be hugged, cuddled and loved, but such opportunities do not occur until they are earned.

Mason - here's another really nice dog who's family no longer has time for him.  They feel badly about giving him up but feel it is the most fair thing to do.

His owners say:

He is great with children and pretty good with other dogs. He does not like cats or squirrels. He is housebroken with only a rare accident when left alone for too long. He does have free reign of the house and is used to being on furniture.

He LOVES riding in the car. He must be kept on a leash...he will run as soon as he figures out he's not on a leash. He is easy to recover, though. All you have to do is find him and open your car door. He will jump right in.

He does not chew inappropriately but will snatch up ANY food within reach. He loves to run. He would really love a place with a fenced in yard that he could run in. He doesn't bark often and doesn't jump on people.

Like we said, he is not a problem. That is not why we are giving him up. We are the problem, and we do feel terrible that we cannot give him what he needs.

Won't you give Mason the home and attention he needs?

Hooch is an 8 - 9 month old Lab. He was dropped off to our rescue because the people just had too many dogs and they knew we rescued Golden Retrievers. They told us he is a golden/lab mix and where they got him, but we're sure he's a full blooded lab. Hooch has had all of his shots and is going to get neutered this week. Hooch has been around other dogs and kids his whole life. He is currently being boarded in Battle Creek, MI and needs a foster or forever home ASAP!!
Wizard - He is approx. two years old. He was a stray picked up by a kill shelter. He is high energy but has calmed down a lot and will sit first before he is petted. He likes to take walks and is doing better on a leash. He loves people and seems to get along with dogs. It is unknown about cats. He is a beautiful dog. He would be good with someone who is active and likes to take walks and would exercise him.

Courtesy Posting:  Hi, my name is Copper. I'm part Husky and part Golden Retriever. I am 1 1/2 years old. I have a lot of puppy energy and I need alot of exercise, but I would rather be near my owner than be outside by myself. I love other dogs, but I think of myself as the boss. I also really like kids. I love lots of attention and need lots of love. All my veterinarian check-ups are current and healthy. I am perfect for you!
