Eeyore is a golden retriever puppy born from Callie on March 18. He was named after the movie "Winnie The Pooh". There were 8 puppies in this litter, 5 males and 3 females. Eeyore s unique to this litter and extra special as he was born without a tail. He was discovered to have hypospadias. He will need surgery for this and we are curently raising funds to pay for his surgery.

In mid-May, took Eeyore to Medvet Columbus to meet with a surgeon to find out what it means to have a pup with hypospadias. The first curve ball was the fact Eeyore may be a girl instead of a boy! His testicles have not descended and until he is a little older we won't know for sure if he has ovaries or testicles. Most likely we will need to have an ultrasound done to find out which sex will be determined. The phallus looking organ may not be a penis and either way it is not functional. This would be removed when he has the surgery to change where he/she is urinating from. The surgery to change that would keep him from urinating on himself which is does now.

The cost of this surgery is estimated to be $3800-$4800. Eeyore would most likely need to spend a week in the hospital to be sure he is healing correctly and a stent would be in place to help healing. Eeyore will then be able to urinate normally. Eeyore would most likely be spayed or neutered depending upon whether he is a boy or a girl. The extra week in the hospital would be another $3,000 PLUS depending upon the level of care he needs.
Even though this all seems a bit complicated for the little guy it is not effecting him in the least. Eeyore will be going back to Medvet Columbus at 6 months old to have this surgery. In the meantime, we are scrambling to raise the funds to cover the costs. Needless to say we could really use some help in coming up with the money we will need to make this happen for Eeyore. Please help us raise the $8,500 needed to cover these expenses.
Eeyore has been adopted, but GRRR was required to follow through by providing this expensive surgery for Eeyore. He had this successful surgery on September 20th. We GREATLY appreciate everyone who donated towards this expensive surgery. We still have outstanding dollars to raise to pay for this surgery. Could you please help us by donating to help pay for his much needed surgery, we will will list your name here as his sponsor. We thank you so much as we just couldn't keep going without you. Only you can make this rescue work, and you do time and time again. We are so appreciative of you!
