We are often highly criticized for having an age limit when a family has children in the home. Crew is the perfect example of why we have this "rule" in place.
Crew lived in a family with multiple young children. Like most families with young kids there were toys, and Crew's favorite socks lying around just waiting for him to eat them. Poor Crew was being crated most of the time to keep him from eating the kids things because he had already had foreign body obstructions twice, and the family was told he would probably not survive a third surgery.

So when Crew had his third obstruction they took him to the vet to be euthanized at just 2 years old. The vet wanted Crew to have a chance so asked the family to sign him over to the vet hospital. He had his 3rd obstruction surgery and did survive. Today his new life began with hopefully only eating approved foods in his hew home, without young children. Crew is currently in a foster to adopt home and if all goes well, he will be adopted by this family. If this changes, we'll let you know here.
