Moose is a 4 year old male golden retriever who needed to find a new home. Moose's former owner wants only the best for him. She is on her own at 40 some weeks pregnant and just will not be able to keep up with a newborn and the energy of a young golden retriever, like Moose. All Moose wants is a loving home. He loves to be loved. His first owner kept him outside because he had energy and then the recent owner said he was much more loving once he was inside in a home environment. He loves to snuggle on the furniture now, too.
Moose is housebroken and has been exposed to other dogs and kids and has done well with both. He is not good on a leash and will need to learn how to walk well on lead. Obedience training will help him bond to his new owner and provide correct training walking on lead. Moose is used to being fed on a slow feeder as he likes to gobble his food.

Our rescue will be getting Moose neutered, which certainly will help to calm him down. Golden Retrievers have energy for some time and his owner will need to be able to give him the time needed to get out and walk him and play.
Moose moved into his foster to adopt home on March 4th. If this works out, he will be officially adopted by his foster family. If you too would like to become a foster-to-adopt home, please read "How to Adopt" and follow the directions from there. You would be Moose's third home in four years, so he will need lots of time to help him adjust. Again, he only wants to be loved.
