Emmy Lou is a 6 year old golden retriever who is adjusting well from a puppy mill mom life to a new foster home. She still gets startled by loud noises or fast moves, which may never disappear -- only time will tell. Once she arrived in rescue, she was groomed and did very well at the groomer, letting the groomer trim her nails, bathe her and use a dryer on her without issue.

Emmy loves her dinner (she'll clean all your dishes) and it is so fun to watch her dance for it! She loves other dogs and is great with cats, and absolutely needs another dog in her home to be happy. She would also love a family who is home more than not, so she doesn't have to "hold it" for more than 8 hours a day. Emmy Lou is also now completely housebroken.

Emmy Lou is now super good about letting foster mom put on her winter coat to go outside on colder days. As the weather gets better, she would love a walking partner to continue her weight loss plan. She has already lost over 4 pounds at her foster home and is feeling great!
