Joshua is a 1 to 2 year old golden retriever who weighs just 46 pounds. He loves everyone he meets, whether it is dogs, cats, or people. In spite of coming from a horrific background, Joshua is happy all the time, loves being right with his people, is housebroken, and shows no inappropriate chewing. Unfortunately he was hit by a car in China and had his first vet appointment here to review his leg in late September.
At the appointment, the vet indicated there was not much we could do about Joshua’s leg. The break was high up on the femur, and his hip does not look good. The achilles was able to then pull his knee around, so it is not even facing the right direction. At some point he could be running and his toes would catch in the grass and he would break that leg, resulting in having it amputated. We went to an ortho vet to see what he said and he indicated that there wasn't a good option for making the leg more functional for Joshua. He said amputation was probably the only option, but since he doesn't have wounds on that paw, nor pain, that amputating is not needed nor is it wrong either.
Joshua is available for adoption now. We thank you for all your donations towards his extra medical care. He is just the sweetest boy ❤️ We'll list your name here as his sponsor.
